Who Is This For?
Amazon ecosystem households who want hands-free kitchen help while moving around, anyone who makes frequent video calls at home, people building a smart home hub, and households who would use a smart display daily.
The Full Picture
The tracking feature is the standout innovation. The base uses a camera, ultrasound, and motor to follow your face as you move around the room. During video calls, you’re always centered in frame even when moving. During recipe following, the screen stays readable whether you’re at the counter or across the kitchen. The first time it tracks you it’s slightly startling; within a day it feels natural and indispensable. Built-in Zigbee hub means compatible smart home devices (lights, locks, sensors) connect directly to the Echo Show 10 without a separate hub — just pair and control. This significantly simplifies smart home setup compared to using separate Zigbee hubs from Philips Hue, SmartThings, etc. Speaker quality is excellent for a smart display — actual stereo speakers with spatial audio that sounds good for music, not just background playback.
Bottom Line
The Echo Show 10 is the smart display that makes the promise of hands-free home assistance actually work. If you’ve been on the fence about a smart display, the tracking screen is the differentiating feature that makes it worth the premium.
